Women’s Action Group is implementing a project in Guruve in partnership with SRHR Africa Trust (SAT. The project strives to promote equitable and inclusive SRHR for young women and girls in Zimbabwe.). The project tackles issues of child marriages, unwanted pregnancies, HIV infections, cervical cancer and menstrual hygiene among young women and girls. The project is being implemented at community and at national level through advocacy and dialogues.
Young women were trained as community advocates to promote participation, and identify community needs. Students in schools have formed health clubs to provide students with knowledge, skills, capacities, values and enthusiasm to mould a healthy lifestyle into adulthood. WAG has also donated sanitary ware and netballs to promote menstrual hygiene and empower girls in Guruve district.
